About Auciera

Built by practitioners who lived the problem they’re solving.

Auciera was founded by practicing CPAs, accounting educators, and a software architect who spent decades building systems for businesses that deserved better. This is why it exists.

Accounting. Refined.

Why Auciera exists

For decades, the right tools
were not accessible to everyone.

Our founders spent careers working directly with business owners, accounting firms, and finance teams who were capable of running excellent operations but were held back by slow processes, delayed information, and systems that required significant manual effort to keep accurate.

Large enterprises had CFOs, finance teams, and purpose-built infrastructure. Everyone else had software that technically worked but still left them guessing at the close.

Auciera was built to close that gap. Not by adding another layer on top of existing tools, but by building a system that maintains a reliable, continuous record from the start.

“Every business deserves the same level of clarity and control that large companies get from seasoned financial leadership. That was not available before. We built Auciera to change that.”

Our mission

Give every practice
CFO-level clarity.

The accounting function is more capable than the tools available to most firms suggest. Categorization, reconciliation, and exception handling do not need to be manual, slow, or error-prone. They need a system built to do them correctly from the start.

Our mission is to simplify and strengthen the accounting function for the firms and businesses that have been underserved by existing tools. Not by replacing the accountant, but by giving them a foundation they can rely on.

The vision is straightforward: every firm should have access to a record that is always current, always defensible, and always ready to support a confident decision

The founding team

Three co-founders. One practice, one firm, one architecture.

Auciera was not designed by a team that studied accounting from the outside. The three co-founders between them have run a CPA practice, led finance transformation at major global firms, and architected scalable software systems for Fortune 500 clients. They built what they could not find.

Andrew A. Ross
Co-founder and CEO
CPA, CMAFormer EY and PwCProfessor, Humber CollegeFinance transformation

Andrew began his career at a startup accounting software company, where he recognized early that the accounting industry was not leveraging technology to its full potential. That observation shaped the next three decades of his career.

He built his expertise across EY and PwC, specializing in finance transformation, tax performance advisory, and performance management. He developed a reputation for bringing clarity to complex financial environments and designing systems that produce accuracy, transparency, and operational reliability.

At Auciera, Andrew leads the company’s direction and ensures the product delivers what he spent his career arguing was possible: a financial record that businesses can use with confidence, not just a record they have to check.

Outside of Auciera, he serves as a Professor of Accounting and Tax at Humber College, where he has helped train the next generation of accounting professionals since 2018.

CPA, 30+ years practiceCPA Professional CorporationProfessor, Humber CollegeExecutive, food processing industry

Dan has spent over 30 years running his own CPA Professional Corporation, supporting owner-managed businesses with bookkeeping, financial accounting, tax planning, and business advisory. He has seen firsthand how manual processes, inconsistent records, and delayed information create unnecessary risk and limit a firm’s ability to serve clients well.

Before co-founding Auciera, he held executive leadership roles in the food processing industry, where he led multimillion-dollar acquisitions, oversaw financial operations, and guided companies through periods of significant transformation. That experience sharpened his understanding of what it takes for financial systems to hold up under real business conditions.

At Auciera, Dan is responsible for ensuring that every workflow, rule, and process reflects actual accounting standards and real professional practice. His involvement means the system was designed by someone who has sat on both sides of the accounting relationship for three decades.

He also teaches accounting at Humber College, bringing the same practical orientation to the classroom that shaped Auciera’s design.

Thomas Schroecker
Co-founder and Head of Product and Technology
Founder, Venuiti GroupWilfrid Laurier University20+ years software architectureFortune 100 and 500 delivery

Thomas has been building software companies since 2000, when most people were still skeptical that the internet was a viable platform for commerce. He left to start his own ventures early in his career and has not looked back. That decision set the tone: identify what others do not yet see, build it, and make it reliable.

He founded and led the Venuiti Group of Companies, delivering large-scale custom software solutions and digital transformation initiatives for Fortune 100 and 500 clients, global agencies, and high-growth companies. He built teams of more than 50 engineers and oversaw revenues in the tens of millions.

At Auciera, Thomas is responsible for the technical foundation and the intelligence automation engine that makes the continuous record possible. He brings the same philosophy that has defined his career: systems should make things simpler, not more complicated, and every architectural decision should hold up under real production conditions.

How we work

Four principles that guide
every decision we make.

These values are not statements. They are the constraints we design against. Every feature, every workflow, and every output is evaluated against all four before it ships.

01
Intuitive

Complex financial signals should translate into simple, repeatable processes that produce trustworthy, actionable insight. If the output requires interpretation before it can be used, the system has not done its job.

02
Transparent

Trust is built through clear processes, measurable outcomes, and open communication. Every answer Auciera produces can be traced back to the underlying transactions. Nothing is hidden behind a summary or abstracted away from review.

03
Accelerated

Repetitive bookkeeping and reconciliation tasks should run without requiring manual intervention. The work does not disappear. It runs in the background, continuously, so the people responsible for the practice can focus on decisions that require judgment.

04
Accurate

Dependable automation, timely financial guidance, and clear rationale behind every insight. Auciera does not produce answers that sound right. It produces answers that are grounded in a record that is continuously maintained and fully traceable.

Our commitment

Automation should empower accounting professionals, not replace them. The accountant stays in control of every decision that requires professional judgment. The system handles everything else.

Our responsibility

Financial technology should be transparent, ethical, and accountable.

We believe the firms and businesses that trust Auciera with their financial records are entitled to specific commitments about how that data is handled. These are not policies. They are the architectural constraints the system was built around from the start.

A system that handles client financial data cannot be retrofitted with responsible practices after the fact. Auciera was designed with these as the starting conditions, not improvements added later.

Responsible automation

Human review and approval remain part of the process at every decision point that requires professional judgment. The system does not act outside the boundaries the firm has defined.

Secure data practices

Client data is isolated by firm, encrypted at rest and in transit, and never used to train models. Access is governed by the firm, not by Auciera. Country-level data residency is a current architecture requirement.

Full traceability

Every action the system takes is logged and reviewable. Every answer can be traced back to the underlying transactions. There are no black-box outcomes in an Auciera-maintained record.

Tools that empower, not replace

Auciera is built to expand what accounting professionals can do, not to reduce their role. The accountant’s judgment, expertise, and client relationships remain central. The system handles the work that should not require them.
